Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a theft case in Kulgam and also recovered a stolen vehicle besides, apprehendingan accused individual involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 9th January this year Police Station Qazigund received a written complaint from one Azam Khan S/o Mohd Ismail Khan R/o Ramban A/P Nawa, who alleged therein that his vehicle bearing registration no JK13A-4716, parked near Jamia masjid Nawa was stolen and a case under FIR No. 08/2025 under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund besides which the investigation was initiating.
Police in its statement further said that the investigation team led by SHO Police Station Qazigund with strenuous efforts and by using all available means tracked down the stolen vehicle at Wullarhama Pahalgam, and was recovered subsequently, adding therein that during the operation, the Police apprehended the accused, identified as Shahid Ahmad Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat R/o Wullarhama Pahalgam.
Stating that the investigations is going on to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the theft Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reaffirmed its commitment to combat the vehicle theft and ensure the safety of residents, appealing people therein to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearby Police unit or Dial-112 without delay so that prompt action against the culprits will be taken.
