JU hosts insightful lecture on Paper Writing, Presentation

Jammu : The Department of Economics, University of Jammu, organized an enriching lecture-cum-interaction session today on the theme of “Paper Writing and Paper Presentation” for Ph.D. scholars. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Sarabjit Singh Toor, Head and Professor, Department of Economics, Punjabi University, Patiala, as the keynote speaker.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office University of Jammu here the program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Sunita Sharma, Head, Department of Economics, University of Jammu. Prof. Sharma extended her greetings to Prof. Sarabjit Singh Toor, esteemed faculty members, and scholars in attendance. She emphasized the significance of the session, introducing the theme and its relevance in enhancing academic and professional capabilities.
In his keynote address, Prof. Sarabjit Singh Toor shared valuable insights on the Social science academic paper writing and effective presentation. He highlighted key considerations for crafting impactful articles, such as structuring research work, formulating clear objectives, and adhering to scholarly standards. Prof. Toor also provided practical tips on presenting papers at seminars and conferences, focusing on audience engagement, clarity of thought, and effective communication.
The session proved to be an interactive platform where scholars and faculty members exchanged ideas and sought guidance on overcoming challenges in academic publishing and presentation. Prof. Toor’s expertise and engaging delivery left a lasting impression on the attendees, motivating them to enhance their research outputs.
Prominent faculty members, including Prof. Jasbir Singh, Prof. Falender Sudan, Prof. Prakash Chand Antahal, Prof. Virender Koundal, Prof. Manoj Bhatt, Dr. Shallu Sehgal, Dr. Neelam Choudhary, Dr. Tsering Yangzom, Dr. Tarsem Singh, Dr. Rinnie Maharjan and Dr Apoorva Jamwal, were present, contributing to the vibrant academic environment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Apoorva Jamwal, who expressed gratitude to Prof. Toor for his enlightening lecture, the faculty for their active participation, and the scholars for their enthusiasm.
This lecture-cum-interaction session marks a significant step in the department’s efforts to foster a culture of academic excellence and research among its scholars. It provided a platform for young researchers to refine their skills and prepare themselves for contributing to the academic community with confidence and competence.
