Srinagar : Today, the MLA of Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, participated in the prestigious “Shaane Varmul” program, an award distribution ceremony held to honor notable individuals who have made significant contributions to society in the fields of education, sports, and entrepreneurship. Speaking at the event, Mr. Shah lauded the awardees for their dedication and service to the community, emphasizing the importance of such contributions in building a progressive society.
Later in the day Shah held a public darbar at Tangmarg, where he interacted with people from various parts of the constituency. He patiently listened to their concerns and developmental needs, assuring them of timely action to address their grievances.
On the occasion, Mr. Shah expressed his gratitude and said that it is really a moment of pride for the entire Gulmarg constituency that Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi ji, in his address on inaugurating Sonamarg Tunnel, announced Gulmarg as the winter capital of the country. He urged the people to work collectively to enhance the beauty and appeal of Gulmarg while emphasizing the need to preserve its unique ecology.
“Gulmarg is not only a treasure of Kashmir but a jewel of the nation. We must take sincere efforts to ensure its development aligns with ecological sustainability,” he said.
The MLA reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Gulmarg and its surrounding areas, assuring that all steps would be taken to address the needs of the people and ensure the region’s progress.
