DC reviews progress under Distt Good Governance Index framework in Kishtwar

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Wednesday took the monthly review of progress achieved under the District Good Governance Index (DGGI) in the District here at a meeting of line departments.
The meeting aimed to assess the impact of the governance interventions across sectors based on the predefined parameters of the DGGI.
The DC conducted a comprehensive review of sector-specific performance in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Employment, Education, Health, Rural Development, Public Infrastructure, Jal Shakti, Banks, and others.
The focus was on evaluating governance measures under the DGGI framework and analyzing indicators to gain insights into the current status and progress over time.
The DC emphasized the need for departments to focus on improving the performance of DGGI indicators in the health sector, such as immunization, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), and institutional deliveries. In this regard, he directed the concerned authorities to organize awareness camps by Anganwadi Workers and ASHA Workers.
He also urged officers to analyze past indices to identify gaps and devise strategies to bridge them to achieve desired outcomes.
DC Kishtwar encouraged departmental officers to work with heightened enthusiasm and dedication to enhance developmental outcomes within the DGGI framework, with a focus on adopting good governance practices.
The line departments were given timelines to achieve the targets.
The meeting was attended by DSEO Kishtwar Akhil Thakur, ALC Kishtwar Mamta Sudershan, EO Municipality Kishtwar Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, CHO Kishtwar Sajid Mustafa, CEO Kishtwar Javed Ahmed Kitchloo, DSHO Kishtwar, ExEn PMGSY, ExEn Jal Shakti, and other sectoral heads.
