Dir Horticulture Jammu conducts extensive tour of Doda

Doda : Director Horticulture Jammu C.L. Sharma along with Joint Director Horticulture Vikas Anand conducted an extensive two days tour of district Doda to oversee operations and other developmental activities being carried out in the Horticulture sector of Chenab region in respect of all the schemes viz: Capex as well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes, especially Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
During the visit, the Director urged the farmers to get benefits from various centrally sponsored schemes especially HADP and Revised Modified High Density Plantation Scheme of the department. He said that the district is having a great potential for horticulture crops which must be tapped and appealed the PRI and field functionaries to work in tandem for doubling the farmers income with special focus on area expansion, establishment of solar driers, protected cultivation structures and processing units.
Further, the Director convened a meeting of the District Officers, Horticulture Development Officers, officials and field functionaries of district Doda. He impressed upon staff to make maximum efforts to reach to every farmer so that various interventions being taken up under HADP and Revised Modified High Density Plantation Scheme are implemented and the objective of the government is well achieved.
Earlier, the Chief Horticulture Officer, Doda appraised the chair about the ongoing works and achievements made so far under different schemes being implemented in the district.
Meanwhile, the Director inaugurated the Food Processing Unit established by the beneficiary under the scheme CAPEX at Akrambad, Doda and Farm Machinery Bank established under the scheme SMAM at Sartingal, Bhaderwah.
Later, he inspected the Mother block of Cherry established in an area of 10 Kanalsat Government Fruit Plant Nursery, Khellani under the scheme HADP.
