Registrars, supporting staff imparted Hands-on Training on Registration of Documents through NGDRS

Jammu : A one-day training program for Sub Registrars and their supporting staff on registration through the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) was successfully organized by the Department of Registration, Jammu & Kashmir in association with Software Development Unit (SDU) NIC Pune, here on Friday.
The training was imparted at Revenue Training Institute Gole Gujaral Jammu, witnessing overwhelming participation. A total 100 participants attended the said training programme including 39 Sub Registrars.
The training session aimed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the registration process through the NGDRS platform. Sub Registrars, along with their supporting staff from various regions of Jammu Division, actively participated in the program, gaining valuable insights into the use of the new digital registration system.
Pranav Barote, a Senior Software Developer from National Informatics Centre (NIC) Pune, delivered an in-depth presentation on the registration process through the NGDRS portal. He also provided an overview of the newly launched initiative “My Deed”– paperless registration – a Government of India initiative designed to streamline the registration process and reduce the dependence on physical documents.
The session also addressed various queries raised by the Sub Registrars and their staff, ensuring that all concerns regarding the portal’s functioning and registration protocols were resolved. This effort aimed to improve the system’s ease of use and promote a better understanding of digital registration mechanisms.
Additionally, Harmandeep Singh, Branch Head Stock Holding Corporation of India (SHCIL) highlighted various aspects of locking of e-stamps viz a viz the Stamp Act, Samvat 1977. The representative conducted a detailed presentation on how to verify the genuineness and authenticity of e-stamp certificates, providing participants with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure the validity of financial documents.
The training program highlighted the ongoing efforts to modernize the registration system in Jammu and Kashmir, with a particular focus on adopting technological advancements for efficient and secure document registration. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of digitalizing public services to enhance transparency, ease of access, and improved service delivery for citizens.
The Department of Registration expressed its commitment to providing continuous training and support to Sub Registrars and their staff to ensure a seamless transition to digital platforms and to uphold the integrity of the registration process.
