Srinagar : Senior People’s Democratic Party leader and District President Baramulla Rafique Rather welcomed the successful completion of the Jammu Kashmir railway project, describing it as a landmark achievement that will transform the region’s connectivity and bring immense benefits to the people.
Highlighting the transformative potential of this railway project, Rather said that the railway link will revolutionize travel by providing an affordable, efficient, and reliable alternative to road and air transport, particularly during the harsh winters when roadways are often closed, and flight costs soar. This rail connection will enhance trade, tourism and overall economic growth, creating new opportunities for the region,” he added. However, Rather expressed his concern over the limited connectivity of the Vande Bharati train services, operational only between Katra to Banihal thus leaving out the vital region of north kashmir including Baramulla. Rafique Rather urged upon the government and Railway Authorities to extend the service of Vande Bharat to Baramulla alao, so that the benefits of the service reach every corner of the Jammu and Kashmir. Rafique Rather said, this achievement is not just about connecting places but about uniting people and opening doors of development and prosperity for the people of every region of Jammu and Kashmir thus leaving North Kashmir out of the benefits will serve limited purpose only. He urged the railway authorities to take immediate action and extend Vande Bharat train services to Baramulla, ensuring that the benefits of this milestone project are felt across every corner of Jammu and Kashmir including North Kashmir.
