Jammu : In a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya, State Tuberculosis Officer Dr Jyoti Jolly apprised the former on measures being taken under the ambitious 100-Day TB Elimination Campaign.
Launched on December 7, this campaign aims to accelerate the fight against TB by improving case detection, reducing diagnostic delays, and enhancing treatment outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations. Spanning 347 districts across 33 states and union territories, the campaign represents a critical component of India’s strategy to eliminate TB and build a TB-free nation.
Dr Jyoti briefed the DC about the vulnerable age groups, the plans about conducting Nikshay Shivirs and other tests to be administered on general population for detection and treatment of potential TB cases.
The DC expressed commitment and assured support for the success of the campaign and hoped that the district performs well in this novel initiative.
CMO Dr Harbaksh Singh, DTO Dr Anu Saloch, WHO consultant NTEP Dr Shilender Tomar besides other officers attended the meeting.
