Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered a stolen Maruti Alto-800 vehicle (Registration No. JK13E-9592) in Pulwama and also apprehended an accused l within hours of the theft.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said the vehicle was stolen from the parking area of District Hospital Pulwama earlier on Tuesday, adding therein that while acting promptly Police registered a case under FIR No. 05/2025 U/S 303(3) BNS at Police Station Pulwama besides launching an intensive investigation.
Stating that the stolen vehicle was tracked down at Chersoo Awantipora, and recovered subsequently, Police in its statement further said that during the operation Police apprehended the accused, identified as Mohammad Shafi Bhat S/o Ghulam Ahmad Bhat R/o Chersoo Awantipora, adding therein that investigations are going on to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the theft.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reaffirmed its commitment on combating vehicle theft and appealed people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Police without delay.
