Mission YUVA: DE&CC B’la hosts capacity building seminar at Sheeri

Baramulla: The District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC), Baramulla, on Tuesday organized a one-day capacity-building seminar at Narwah in Sheeri, as part of the IEC (Information, Education & Communication) campaign for Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyamita Vikas Abhiyan).
The seminar was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina and was attended by the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Assistant Director Employment, and witnessed significant participation from enthusiastic youth and local stakeholders.
The seminar, part of Project YUVA, focused on empowering young individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on entrepreneurial ventures and seize employment opportunities. The initiative aligns with the government’s vision to promote self-reliance and job creation in the region.
Speaking during the workshop, the ADC emphasized that through initiatives like Project YUVA, aim is to transform the aspirations of our youth into tangible achievements and underscored that the district administration remains committed to creating a conducive environment for employment and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Zahoor Ahmad further stated that the district administration has deployed 1,500 invigilators to carry out a comprehensive baseline survey aimed at identifying unemployed youth and empower them by facilitating access to sustainable livelihood opportunities.
In his address, the AD, DE&CC Baramulla elaborated on the various schemes and programs designed to support youth in achieving financial independence, including, financial assistance programs, skill development workshops and business mentorship initiatives.
Throughout the day, a series of interactive sessions were conducted by experts in financial literacy and covered topics such as effective business strategies, and leveraging government schemes for self-employment. The participants also had the opportunity to engage directly with resource persons to seek advice and share their ideas.
The seminar also provided a platform for inspiring success stories, where local entrepreneurs who had benefited from previous government initiatives shared their journeys, resonating deeply with the participants and serving as a source of motivation.
