Bandipora: To streamline the verification process of beneficiaries enrolled in the Public Distribution System (PDS) database, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Tuesday convened a meeting with the concerned officers, here.
The meeting aimed to ensure the accurate identification and verification of beneficiaries under different categories, including Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Households (PHH), and Non-Priority Households (NPHH). The DC emphasized the importance of a thorough and timely verification process to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits they are entitled to, while also preventing any misuse of the system.
During the meeting, the DC issued clear instructions to all concerned officials to adhere to the guidelines laid down in the Government Order issued last year regarding the same. He directed them to form Tehsil and Village Level Committees to expedite the verification process and ensure its completion within the stipulated time frame.
Qadri also stressed the need for close monitoring of the verification process by Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to ensure transparency and accountability. He directed the concerned to ensure that the PDS system functions efficiently and reaches the most vulnerable sections of society.
The meeting was attended by SDM Sumbal, SDM Gurez, ACR, ACD, CPO, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildars, Block Development Officers, and other relevant officials.
