Kupwara: The District Administration Kupwara on Tuesday organized an awareness program as part of Mission YUVA (Udyam Jagriti 2.0 – Baseline Survey), which saw an enthusiastic participation from district officers, supervisors, and investigators.
Addressing the programme, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan appreciated the efforts of the officers including supervisors and investigators for showing good progress in undertaking the Baseline Survey under Mission YUVA. She enjoined upon them to pace up the survey and adhere to the collection of quality data to ensure accuracy of the database which is the key to the success of the Mission YUVA programme.
Earlier, Assistant Director Employment Kupwara emphasized the significance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among the region’s unemployed youth. He stressed the pivotal role Mission YUVA plays in empowering young people by offering them the necessary tools, knowledge, and financial support to establish their own enterprises.
He further highlighted how the initiative is a vital step towards transforming the economic landscape of the district by providing youth with avenues to become job creators rather than job seekers.
The Employment Officer engaged the participants with insightful PowerPoint presentation and provided a comprehensive overview of the mission’s goals, objectives, and the various opportunities it offers to the youth. The presentation served to clarify the process and advantages of participating in the scheme, encouraging the attendees to spread the word and ensure maximum outreach among eligible candidates.
The program concluded with an interactive session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and gain further clarity on the steps to avail the benefits of Mission YUVA. This initiative reflects the district’s commitment to enhancing employment opportunities and creating a sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship for the youth of Kupwara.
It was informed that a survey of 39000 households has already been completed under Mission YUVA in district Kupwara covering around 2 lakh individuals in the district.
Later, the DC said that Baseline survey is being conducted under Mission YUVA in all 385 panchayats of district Kupwara. To execute the survey, 60 supervisors and more than 1200 investigators have been deputed who have been provided proper training.
The objective of the Mission YUVA is to understand the aspirations and demands of the youth and connect them with self employment schemes of the Government for their better future. She appealed to the people of Kupwara district to participate in the Baseline Survey so that quality data is obtained for betterment and welfare of the unemployed youth.
