Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal and Pulwama besides recovering contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during checking a Police unit of Police Station Lar at a checkpoint established at Benhama Lar arrested a drug peddler identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Jabar Mir R/o Benhama Lar , adding therein that during search, 3.81 Kgs of Bhang Patri and 32 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused.
Stating that in Pulwama also a naka party from Police Post Newa intercepted a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK13B-0980, driven by one Hilal Ahmed Wani S/o Sonaullah Wani R/o Zadoora, Police in its statement further said that during search, a nylon sack containing 12.650 kgs of Charas Powder was recovered from the possession of the said accused and thereafter vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that cases were registered under relevant sections of law at respective police stations besides initiating further investigations, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to share information regarding drug peddling to the Police for strict action.
