Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has detailed a drug peddler under the PIT-NDPS Act here in Kupwara.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Sogam has detained one Irfan Ahmad Pir S/o Wali Mohammad Pir R/o Wavoora under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, adding therein that the accused lodged in District Jail Bhadarwah is involved in case FIR No. 28/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Sogam. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperation with it in this fight against drug abuse and appealed people to report any information related to drug peddling or trafficking to the nearest police station.
