Shopian : Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar on Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli in the district.
The Scheme aims to increase share of solar roof top capacity and empower residential households to generate their own electricity with significant financial contribution from the government.
It was apprised during the course of meeting that, 206 applications have been received till date in the district, with 5 solar plants Commissioned.
Besides,10 villages have been identified for the launch of Modal Solar Village in the district who after assessment shall be eligible for significant grants for turning them into Modal Solar Villages.
All departments have been advised to encourage employees to avail the benefits of schemes while many religious institutions have also applied for the scheme.
Collaborating departments have been asked to generate maximum awareness of the scheme and reach door to door for extensive mobilisation.
ADDC, ADC, ACR, XEN KPDCL, JKEDA, Tehsildars/ BDOs participated in the meeting.
