Jammu : Police in Jammu on Thursday said that it has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the Sidhra area of Nagrota subdivision as part of their ongoing efforts under Operation Kamdhenu.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that a police team from Police Post Sidhra intercepted a Mahindra vehicle (Registration No. JK03N/4932) at a naka near Tawi Bridge, adding therein that the vehicle heading from Narwal towards Udhampur, was found transporting five bovines illegally. Stating that the driver of the vehicle managed to flee the scene, taking advantage of the darkness, leaving behind the vehicle and the bovines, Police in its statement further said it rescued five bovines and seized the vehicle and also registered a case under FIR No. 01/2025 under sections 223/BNS and 11 of the PCA Act at Police Station Nagrota besides initiating further investigations.
