Srinagar: Holding a photograph in hand while wailing over the death of her son was the mother of Umar Yaseen Shah of Nowgam Srinagar, who was found dead in a Thar vehicle at the bottom of a deep gorge near Digdool, Ramban.
The air in Nowgam Srinagar was filled with cries as the mother and relatives of Yaseen mourned the death of their beloved.
Reports said that the atmosphere in Nowgam turned sombre as the body of the missing Srinagar man returned to his native home on Tuesday (December 31), after being missing for nearly a week. Family members, relatives and neighbours all gathered to catch the last glimpse of their beloved.
Notably, on Monday, the body of Umar Yaseen Shah, a resident of Railway Colony, Nowgam Srinagar, was found in his black Thar vehicle at the bottom of a deep gorge near Digdool, Ramban. The body was subsequently shifted to a hospital for medical formalities and identification. Later in the night, Yaseen’s family members arrived at the hospital and confirmed the body to be his.
As the body reached Nowgam, family members, neighbours and relatives gathered, filling the air with sobs and cries. The area resonated with the wailing of loved ones.
“Be Gayes Na Pagal, Myoun Nechuw Koat Gow … Khudayoo,” wailed Yaseen’s mother as her cries echoed throughout the area. “Myaani Khuadayoo, Me Kus Taawan Pyow,” she cried, tears streaming down her face. Similarly, others in Nowgam were seen shedding tears as the body arrived.
Meanwhile, Yaseen was laid to rest amid sobs and tears, with a large number of people attending his funeral.
It is worth mentioning that, as per a viral poster shared on social media and confirmed by the family, Umar Yaseen Shah had been missing since December 22 at midnight. According to his family, he was travelling from Srinagar to Jammu in his black Mahindra Thar bearing registration number JK01AN9990. The family had also issued contact information on social media, urging anyone with information about him to reach out. A missing person report had been registered at Nowgam Police Station
