Drug peddler booked under PIT-NDPS Act in Sopore: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has booked a notorious drug peddler under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority in Sopore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a drug peddler namely Muzafar Ahmad Marazi S/o Mohammad Akbar Marazi R/o Sofi Hamam Sopore has been booked by it under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the said accused has been taken into custody and is now being lodged in the District Jail Udhampur.
Stating that many cases were registered against the said drug peddler but still he was involved in drug peddling by supplying drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore, Police ]in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that people of the area have appreciated its role played by the Police in taking action against drug smugglers/peddlers. Police resolved to take strict actions against such criminals as per the law.
