Kupwara: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, M Rouf Rehman who is also Nodal Officer for the 24/7 Joint District Control Room, chaired an important meeting Friday with concerned officers to review the preparedness of the departments to deal with the snowfall situation.
During the meeting, the ADC stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure the timely response to any disruptions caused by snowfall. The key focus was on the effective functioning of the 24/7 Joint District Control Room, which will serve as the central point for monitoring and coordinating snow clearance operations, rescue operations, and addressing any public grievances during the snowfall.
The concerned officers, including those from the R&B Department, Revenue, Police, Health, Municipalities and other emergency services, briefed the ADC on their respective departments’ action plans. It was discussed that snow clearance machinery, essential supplies, and emergency response teams should be ready to be deployed at short notice.
The ADC emphasized the importance of maintaining round-the-clock monitoring of weather conditions and ensuring effective communication among the control room, field agencies, and the public. He also directed officials to enhance public awareness regarding precautionary measures and safety tips during the snowfall.
The ADC directed R&B and PMGSY departments for clearance of all major roads leading towards district headquarters on first priority and inner roads should also be cleared to ensure hassle free movement of people, especially patients.
Arrangements for uninterrupted supply of power and drinking water for health institutions and Government offices were also reviewed and PHE officers were directed to ensure these arrangements.
The meeting was attended by CPO, SDM Lolab, CEO, ALC and other concerned officers
