Srinagar: The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir conducted a surprise inspection at the Parimpora Bus Stand in Srinagar on Friday.
During the visit, he appealed to drivers to exercise caution and drive slowly, as snowfall has made roads slippery and hazardous.
Talking to reporters during the inspection, RTO Kashmir Qazi Irfan Rasool Zargar urged people to prioritize safety, emphasizing the importance of slow driving in snowy and slippery conditions.
He said the enforcement teams are actively deployed in every district, particularly in Srinagar. “They have been instructed to ensure there is no jumbling or violation in public transport operations,” he said.
The RTO further said that strict action would be taken against violators under the law. He encouraged the general public to report traffic-related issues through the dedicated helpline number 103. “For other grievances, citizens can contact us using the numbers provided on the official RTO Kashmir website,” he added
