SSP Jammu Chairs PCPG Meeting at Gujjar Basti, Khairi, Bishnah

Jammu : In a significant step to strengthen police-public relations, a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was organized by Police Station Bishnah in the Khairi area of Bishnah. The event witnessed the participation of around 300 residents, including youth and women from Gujjar Basti and nearby areas.

The meeting was chaired by SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS, accompanied by SP Headquarters Jammu, Sh. Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS, SDPO RS Pura Sh. Nikhil Gogna-JKPS, and SHO Bishnah Sh. Sushil Choudhary.

Important points addressed: during the meeting Residents have raised a wide range of concerns, from issues related to the police to the scope of public administration. Members of the Gujjar community have highlighted their grievances. which got the attention of SSP.
SSP Certification and Recommendations: Speaking at the meeting, SSP Jammu assured the community of taking swift action to resolve their grievances. He stressed the need to work together to address pressing issues such as drug abuse. cattle smuggling and widespread theft in some areas of Jammu district. He also stressed the importance of education and sports. Calling on communities to take advantage of government plans for social and economic upliftment, SSP encourages participation in special dairy farming training programs and adoption of modern dairy technology to increase income generating opportunities. Due to the area’s proximity to the International Border (IB), SSP Jammu advises residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police immediately.

Community response: The local community expressed gratitude to Jammu Police for organizing the meeting. and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between the police and the public. They assured of full support to the police in maintaining law and order.

Commitment to public participation: The meeting reflects Jammu Police’s commitment to building trust, cooperation and mutual understanding with the community. Such efforts not only strengthen relations between police and citizens; But it also plays an important role in the overall safety and security of the region.It concluded with a commitment from both sides to work together for a better society.
