Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team led by SHO Police Station Pattan at a checkpoint established near ITI Pattan, intercepted a vehicle Santro bearing registration no JK01L-7671 with two suspects identified as Mosin Raja S/o Gh Mohi Ud Din Tantray R/o Tantraypora Palhallan and Ashiq Hussain Dar S/o Ab Ahad R/o Manzseer Sopore onboard and during search recovered 2.30 grams of contraband brown sugar from the possession of the said accused, adding therein that a vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
Stating that the accused was also arrested and a case under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Pattan besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in the fight against the drug menace by sharing any information regarding drug peddling or trafficking in their areas and contact nearest police station to report any suspicious activities.
