Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday reiterated the demand for the resignation and public apology from Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly insulting the architect of the Constitution Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha and announced to hold “Ambedkar Samman March” tomorrow to press for the demand.

Addressing a press conference at PCC HQs here, Senior Congress Leaders Raman Bhalla ( Working President), Ravinder Sharma ( Chief- Spokesperson), Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Former MLC Ved Mahajan, Former Chairman Legislative Council A S Micky, DCC President Thakur Manmohan Singh, Shashi Sharma and Suresh Dogra and others, forcefully reiterated the demand.

They announced the holding of “Ambedkar Samnan March” from Dr Ambedkar Chowk Gandhinagar Jammu tomorrow to further press the demand for the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah, as part of nationwide call of the party.

Raman Bhalla said that the entire nation is hurt by the insulting remarks of Home Minister in the parliament against the father of Constitution Dr Ambedkar and there are series of protests throughout the country but the Prime Minister is silent on this issue.

The real intentions and mindset of the BJP has come out from the mouth of Home Minister Amit Shah, and demand his immediate resignation.

Ravinder Sharma, Chief Spokesperson stated it was on the written request of Congress President and LoP in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and LoP in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to the Presiding officers of the two houses regarding discussion on the Constitution on completion of 75th year, the debate was held in the two houses of parliament, during the course of which Amit Shah used the derogatory words against Dr Ambedkar.

Instead of expressing gratitude and honouring his great contributions in the framing of the Constitution, Amit Shah insulted the great personality.

The party demanded immediate resignation and public apology by the Home Minister to end the unrest in the country over the issue, otherwise people will not be satisfied less than this.
