Kuwait City/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Sunday conferred with Kuwait’s top honour of Mubarak Al-Kabeer medal in appreciation for his role in boosting the good ties between Kuwait and India.

The honour was bestowed on PM Modi by the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in a ceremony held at Bayan Palace.

In his acceptance speech, PM Modi said that the prestigious medal is a dedication to the longstanding friendship between India and Kuwait, and expressed his commitment to elevating their relations to even higher levels.

The Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah remarked, “This is the greatest medal we have, and you deserve it,” emphasizing the long-standing relationship between Kuwait and the Republic of India, which has lasted for centuries.

The medal is symbolic of the gratitude of the Kuwaiti people for PM Modi’s efforts in strengthening the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations, and underscores the mutual respect and partnership between the two nations, KUNA said.
