Pulwama : A special enforcement drive was on Thursday carried out by Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Pulwama, focusing on traffic violations, particularly by two-wheeler drivers riding without helmets and cases of minor driving.
The drive aimed to ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, enhancing road safety in the district.
During the drive several vehicles were inspected and violations were identified. Around 09 cases were identified who were riding without helmets, 09 cases who failed to produce Driving License (DL), triple riding cases and numerous cases without insurance were identified and actions were taken as per rule. A total of 17 e-challans were issued with the total fine amount of Rs.34, 500 to be expected.
The drive underscores the district administration’s commitment to promoting road safety and stricter adherence to traffic regulations. Such initiatives will continue to create awareness and deter violations, ensuring public safety.
