Drug peddler arrested in G’bal, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Nagbal at a checkpoint established at Shuhama intercepted a susprect identified as Nisar Ahmad Kambay S/o Ghulam Ahmad Kambay R/o Shuhama who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party but was chased and apprehended tactfully, adding therein that during search, bangpattri along with seeds and tops like contraband substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused. Stating tha a case under FIR No. 303/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ganderbal besides initiating further initiated investigation into the case Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
