3 gamblers arrested in Srinagar; Stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three gamblers in Srinagar district and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on reliable inputs about the gambling activities, a police party of Police Station Bemina raided the specific location and arrested three gamblers identified as Ubaid Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Razak Mir, Aamir Hameed Shooda S/o Ab Hameed and Adil Ahmad Gashroo S/o Bashir Ahmad, all residents of Arampora Qamarwari , adding therein that a stake money of ₹11,460/-, playing cards and three mobile phones were also recovered the possession of the said accused.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bemina besides initiating further investigations into the case Police
in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local Police units.
