J&K Women Cricketers Shine with Stellar Performances in Sr Women’s OD Tournament 2024

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir women cricketers have made their region proud by achieving outstanding results in the Senior Women’s OD Tournament 2024. Several players have excelled in both batting and bowling, setting records and becoming top ranked at all-India levels.
Batting Achievements
Jasia Akhter: At number 2 in the top scorer list, has the 4th best individual score with 165, and 4th in highest averages at 94.25. She is at 2nd most centuries and 4th most fours.
Rubiya Syed: Top scorer has the highest average at 129.50 and also tops the highest strike rate in an innings with 244.82. She also ranks 5th in the tournament strike rate with 134.30, and is at 2nd most sixes with 17. Other top performers include Chitra Singh Jamwal and Bawandeep Kaur, who are among the top 50 run-scorers.
Bowling Highlights: Five bowlers, including Bismah Hassan, Ananya Sharma, Sandhya, Sarla, and Rudrakshi Chib, feature in the top 100 wicket-takers. Ananya Sharma tops the list for the best strike rate in an innings (5.80).
These excellent performances have enabled the J&K Senior Women’s team to make it straight to the quarterfinals for the first time in history. The team earned 24 points in the league phase and will now take on Madhya Pradesh on December 23rd in Rajkot. The entire cricket fraternity of J&K is celebrating this magnificent feat and praying for the success of the team to continue. Congratulations to all the players for making the region proud!
