Kulgam :: To review the progress of Aadhaar saturation in the district and to address challenges related to enrolment and updates, a meeting of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) was on Monday held at the DC Office, Kulgam.
The meeting, convened by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri, was attended by the District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Tehsildars, Health, Education, Lead Bank Manager and other line departments.
State Project Manager UIDAI J&K gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation highlighting the initiatives undertaken to streamline Aadhaar enrolment and updates. He detailed the organization of special Aadhaar camps in collaboration with the District Administration and the establishment of enrolment facilities in hospitals to facilitate Aadhaar generation for newborns using verified birth certificates.
The use of QR code-verified date of birth certificates to prevent rejections during updates was also emphasized during the meeting.
During the meeting, ADC underscored the importance of Aadhaar as a document for accessing government services and benefits and urged residents, particularly those who have not updated their Aadhaar in over a decade, to update their demographic details, biometrics, and supporting documents. Parents were advised to ensure their children’s Aadhaar biometric details are updated at the ages of 5 and 15 to keep their Aadhaar active.
All the departments were instructed to work in collaboration and intensify efforts to achieve 100% Aadhaar saturation in the district with special emphasis laid on updating Aadhaar for students to align with school records, ensuring seamless application processes for national-level competitive exams.
Instructions were further issued to the concerned officials to enhance outreach programs and provide adequate resources to facilitate Aadhaar updates for residents.
Meanwhile, the ADC highlighted the importance of updated Aadhaar details in promoting ease of living, enhanced access to government services, and ensuring accurate authentication.
