Baramulla: To review the progress of Aadhaar saturation in the district and address challenges related to enrollment and updates, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee (DLAMC) meeting on Friday at the DC Office, here.
During the meeting, DC underscored the importance of Aadhaar as a document for accessing government services and benefits, and urged residents, particularly those who have not updated their Aadhaar in over a decade, to update their demographic details, biometrics, and supporting documents. Parents were advised to ensure their children’s Aadhaar biometric details are updated at the ages of 5 and 15 to keep their Aadhaar active.
Minga Sherpa directed all departments to work collaboratively and intensify efforts to achieve 100% Aadhaar saturation in the district with special emphasis laid on updating Aadhaar for students to align with school records, ensuring seamless application processes for national-level competitive exams.
The DC further instructed the concerned officials to enhance outreach programs and provide adequate resources to facilitate Aadhaar updates for residents.
Meanwhile, the DC highlighted the importance of updated Aadhaar details in promoting ease of living, enhancing access to government services, and ensuring accurate authentication. Residents were encouraged to actively participate in the ongoing campaign and promptly update their Aadhaar details.
State Project Manager UIDAI J&K gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation highlighting the initiatives undertaken to streamline Aadhaar enrollment and updates. He detailed the organization of special Aadhaar camps in collaboration with the district administration and the establishment of enrollment facilities in hospitals to facilitate Aadhaar generation for newborns using verified birth certificates.
The use of QR code-verified date of birth certificates to prevent rejections during updates was also emphasized during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Additional Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, District Programme Officer ICDS Project, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, District Statistical & Evaluation Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Superintendent Post Office, Lead Bank Officer, District Manager CSC, District Informatics Officer, Manager India Post Payment Bank and Representative of UIDAI.
