Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting five accused involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen livestock here in Sopore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Post Warpora received an application from one Fayaz Ahmad War S/o Late Mohammad Sultan War R/o Warpora Sopore regarding the theft of his livestock (4 cows) from his cow shed, adding therein that upon receipt of the complaint, a case was registered relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation.
Police in its statement further said that later on the directions of SP Sopore Divya D, a SIT comprising of SHO Police Station Sopore and Incharge Police Post Warpora headed by SDPO Sopore was constituted and it was after strenuous efforts and that with the help of technical inputs, one Manzoor Ahmad War S/o Abdul Rashid War R/o Raj Mohalla Warpora was apprehended. In its statement Police further said that during the investigation, the accused confessed about his involvement in the commission of crime along with four others identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone S/o Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Bilal Ahmad Malik S/o Ghulam Rasool Malik both the residents of Raj Mohalla Warpora, Ashiq Hussain Lone S/o Mohammad MaqboolLone and Mohammad Asif BhatS/o Abdul Rashid Bhat both residents of Zyootmulla Bandipora.
Stating that all the accused were arrested and on their disclosure two cows were recovered from their possession and a vehicle bearing registration no. JK15B-3463 used in commission of crime was also seized, Police in its statement further said that durther investigation of the case is going on and more recoveries are expected.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that it remains committed to eliminate the social crimes from the society and appealed people to share information of anti-social elements with J&K Police.
