Police observes Thana Diwas in DisttB’la, SSP hosts Thana Diwas at Police Station B’la

Srinagar : As a part of Public outreach programme, Police in Baramullaon Thursday observed Thana Diwas across various jurisdictions, including Police Station Baramulla, Police Station Pattan, Police Station Bijhama, Police Station Gulmarg and Women’s Police Station, Police Post Mirgund, Police Post Wagoora, Police Post Wussan and Police Post Delina.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar SSP Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh, led the Thana Diwas program at Police Station Baramulla, which witnessed active participation from prominent citizens, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), AuqafCommittees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, traders’ federations, and various market associations from Baramulla town and its adjoining areas.
During the event, SSP Baramulla attentively addressed the grievances raised by the public, assuring them that issues concerning the police would be prioritized for resolution, while matters related to the civil administration would be forwarded to the relevant departments for prompt redressal. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Baramulla emphasized the importance of strengthening grassroots-level policing to enhance the efficiency of police personnel and foster trust among the public. Addressing criminal activities in the area, SSP Baramulla urged officers to adopt a dedicated approach to combating drug abuse and eradicating other social evils. He stressed the importance of serving society with integrity and maintaining the dignity of the police force.
Besides, the event was also attended by IPS Probationer RishabhShukla (IPS), DySP Headquarters Baramulla, and SHO Police Station Baramulla. It concluded with a vote of thanks exchanged between the police and the public.
Moreover, at other police stations & police posts, the programmes were chaired by Gazetted Officers of the district, accompanied by concerned SHOs and other police officials. During these sessions, officers actively listened to public grievances, assuring attendees that legitimate issues related to policing would be addressed promptly. matters concerning the civil administration were noted for referral to the respective departments for timely resolution.
Speaking at the events, SDPOs highlighted efforts to revamp grassroots-level policing, aimed at improving operational efficiency and fostering public confidence. They emphasized that Thana Diwas serves as a vital initiative to bridge the gap between the police and the public, enabling the redressal of grievances while promoting community policing to enhance trust and collaboration.
