Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has seized a vehicle acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade in Srinagar.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Srinagar Police has seized vehicle bearing registration No. JK01J-7081 from two drug peddlers namely Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Babapora Barthana formally arrested under case FIR No.136/2024 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Parimpora, adding therein that the vehicle used in the commission of crime has been also also seized.
Stating that during financial investigation of the case the vehicle was found acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade by the said accused, Police in its statement further said that seizure of vehicle has been made under the provisions of section 68 of NDPS Act.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to eradicate drug menace and dismantle the infrastructure supporting narcotics trafficking.
