Jammu : Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW Jammu conducted awareness session on Sexual harassment at workplace prevention in collaboration with JKNRLM at the Block Training Centre in Akhnoor The program, which saw a large turnout of women from JKRLM Cluster Coordinators, Mobilisers, Management information System Multitasking staff and surrounding communities, highlighted the importance of empowering women through education, healthcare, safety and economic opportunities.
The program featured comprehensive presentation by Advocate Meenu Padha from High Court providing in-depth information about Gender based violence, Sexual harassment at workplace prevention prohibition & redressal act 2013, further she highlighted the stigmas that are still prevalent in society about Gender allocation and how the judiciary has come out with the various laws for the justice of women in every prospective whether it is her family workplace or surroundings. Further the officials of Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW scattered the information on various government schemes and programs designed to uplift women. Key initiatives discussed included: Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP),NHM Health Schemes, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, Ladli Beti, Scholarship Schemes, Skill Development Programs, Business Startup Schemes, Pension Schemes, SMAS for Marriage, Schemes for Women in Distress, Nasha Mukht.
The officials stressed the vital role these schemes play in empowering women and safeguarding their well-being. The program concluded with a valuable grievance redressal session, where women were given a platform to express their concerns and seek immediate solutions.
