Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma on Monday chaired a comprehensive meeting to review, subdivision-wise, the progress of various developmental schemes, including those under Capex, District Capex, NABARD, CRF, Languishing Projects and other departmental initiatives.
In Kotranka subdivision, 40 works allotted under various schemes were reviewed, including critical roads funded by NABARD. The Deputy Commissioner directed the ADC to resolve bottlenecks hindering progress in the ongoing road projects.
In Kalakote subdivision, of 18 schemes, 10 are ongoing, six have been completed and one is under litigation. The DC emphasised expediting the completion of pending works and resolving the legal case promptly.
In Nowshera subdivision, 16 out of 29 schemes under NABARD have been completed. A dispute affecting one project was discussed and the ACR was directed to constitute a committee to resolve the issue. The status of the Mother and Child Hospital was also reviewed, with instructions to expedite the pending macadamisation of roads.
In Rajouri subdivision, 46 schemes were reviewed. The DC directed the ACR to conduct an inquiry into the Doongi to Challas road regarding potholes and blackspots. He also emphasised the urgent need for pothole filling on the road leading to GMC Kheora Hospital. In Thanamandi subdivision, 24 works allotted under NABARD were reviewed, with four completed so far. The DC urged the faster execution of the remaining works to ensure timely public benefit.
The Deputy Commissioner issued several key directives, emphasising the resolution of road disputes and bottlenecks by the ADC and ACR to ensure smooth project execution. He called for expediting pothole repairs on critical roads, particularly those leading to public institutions and stressed the need to address quality issues while ensuring blackspot-free roads in identified areas. Additionally, he underlined the importance of strengthening interdepartmental coordination to overcome challenges in project implementation.
The meeting was attended by ACR Mohd Jahangir Khan, Executive Engineers, AEEs (PWD and Electrical) and other concerned officials.
