Police arrests two drug peddlers in Kashmir with contraband substances

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Kashmir valley on Sunday.

Police on a tip off raided the house of one Manzoor Ahmad Bhat a resident of Nadigam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and recovered 14 Kgs of Charas Powder from there.

The accused was arrested on the spot, police said.

Meanwhile in Handwara, a Police at a checkpoint established at Kachwari Handwara, in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district arrested a drug peddler identified as Irshad Ahmad Sofi a resident of Bakiakher.

“During search, 100 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession”, they said.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
