Weatherman predicts light rains, snow for next 2 days across J&K

Night temp improves in Kashmir; Sgr shivers at minus 2.0 degree Celsius

Srinagar: After recording the coldest night of season, the minimum temperature has improved across the Valley while as the weatherman here has predicted light rains and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days.
Shopian in South Kashmir was the coldest place where the mercury settled at minus 4.5 degree Celsius.
In Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the night temperature has improved as against previous night’s minus 4.1 degree Celsius, it has settled at minus 2.0 degree Celsius, which is the third lowest of the season so far.
As per the details, Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination and Bandipora were the second coldest places at minus 4.3 degree Celsius while in Gulmarg, a ski-resort, the mercury settled at minus 3.6 degree Celsius. Similar night temperature was recorded at Kupwara in north Kashmir as well.
Qazigund, a gateway of Kashmir recorded a low of minus 2.4 degree Celsius while Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, Director Meteorological department (MeT) has predicted generally cloudy weather with the possibility of light rain over few areas of plains and hilly areas of Jammu division & light rain and snow in higher reaches over few places of Kashmir division during late evening of 8th to 9th forenoon.
He added that the weather would remain generally dry on December 10 and 11 while there is a possibility of light snow over isolated higher reaches on December 12.
From December 13 to 17, the weather would remain generally dry.
Moreover, as per the MeT’s forecast, the tourists, travelers and transporters have been advised to follow administration and traffic advisory
