Baramulla : Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, on Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Rafiabad constituency.
The tour was mainly held with an aim to review progress of works on developmental projects, engage with local delegations and address public issues.
During his tour, the Minister laid foundation stone for construction of the Ladwa-Siterwan road in Rohama, a key project that will significantly improve connectivity in the region.
Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony, the Minister said, “The Ladwa-Siterwan road will not only improve access to essential services like healthcare, education and markets but will also boost tourism in the region by providing easier access to the scenic spots in the area, thus contributing to the overall development of Rafiabad.”
Following the foundation stone ceremony, the Minister held a public meeting and took stock of their grievances and issues.
During the interaction, he outlined the government’s vision for the constituency. He emphasized the government’s commitment to equitable development and assured the public that ongoing projects would be completed in a timely manner.
The Minister urged the community to actively engage with government schemes and work together to achieve sustainable development in Rafiabad.
Javid Dar also visited High School (HS) Balhama, where he interacted with the school management and students. During the visit, the school management raised several key demands, including the provision of computer systems to enhance digital learning for students.
The minister assured the school management and students that their request would be given immediate attention. “We understand the importance of modernizing education, and providing computer systems will empower students with the tools needed to excel in today’s digital world,” the minister said.
Later, the Minister met various delegations, including general public, youth groups and farmers. They raised concerns related to road infrastructure, Water Supply, Power Supply and employment opportunities.
The minister assured them that the government is committed to addressing these concerns and urged the community to actively engage with government.
Javid Dar also inspected ongoing developmental projects regarding road construction and agricultural initiatives and directed concerned officers and Engineers to ensure their timely completion. He highlighted measures to support farmers, including improved irrigation systems, financial assistance for seeds and fertilizers as well as modern farming practices.
