Ganderbal : The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF-HoFF), J&K, B.K. Singh inaugurated the winter plantation drive under the flagship initiative ‘Ek Paed Maa Kay Naam’ at Kachnambal area of Sindh Forest Division, Ganderbal.
The PCCF (HoFF) accompanied by Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir Irfan Rasool Wani, CF Srinagar Tawheed Ahmad Deva and other senior forest officials and dignitaries, initiated the plantation drive by planting conifer saplings.
The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, local community members and forest officials of all allied wings, resulting in the planting of hundreds of conifer and indigenous saplings across the area.
In his address, PCCF & HoFF highlighted the significance of the ‘Ek Paed Maa Kay Naam’ campaign, which aims to honor the nurturing spirit of motherhood while promoting environmental stewardship.
“Planting trees symbolizes our commitment to a greener and healthier future. By linking this campaign to our mothers, we invoke a sense of respect, care, and responsibility towards nature, much like the love and care a mother offers her children,” said the PCCF.
Participants were encouraged to actively engage with environmental preservation efforts to ensure the survival of future generations.
Earlier in the day, PCCF inspected the newly constructed office building of the Sindh Forest Division. Equipped with modern facilities, the building is expected to streamline administrative operations and enhance coordination among the staff.
The event was attended by DFO Sindh Forest Division, DFO Planning and Publicity Division, Deputy Director, Forest Protection Force, Ganderbal, DM FDC, IPO, Range Officers, and frontline forest staff.
