DC Kishtwar reviews Land Acquisition Matters

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan convened a meeting with revenue officers and officials from the Border Roads Organization (BRO)-GREF to address key issues related to land acquisition and revenue management for road projects in the district.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the progress of land acquisition and award processes along the Kishtwar-Galhar-Sansari Road axis under BRO’s jurisdiction. Emphasizing the importance of completing pending tasks, he directed the concerned Tehsildars to ensure that all land records are updated and consolidated. He further instructed them to obtain a stretch-wise list of land awarded under various BRO projects to streamline the record-keeping process.
To ensure proper management of acquired land, the DC highlighted the need for accurate demarcation and timely handover of land records to the relevant agencies. He directed the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Tehsildars to conduct joint inspections along with Executing departments and immediately initiate the demarcation and pegging process for pending acquired land under road projects.
Apart from land-related issues, the DC emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and sanitation along BRO roads, especially in marketplaces and drainage syste He urged the authorities to align these efforts with the objectives of the Swatch Bharat Mission to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for the public.
Key discussions also focused on road alignment issues, widening of roads, and demarcation of acquired stretches to facilitate the smooth implementation of ongoing and future road projects.
The DC reiterated the need for inter-departmental coordination to resolve bottlenecks and expedite developmental activities.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Idrees Lone; SDM Marwah, Dr. Mohd Ashraf; SDM Chatroo, Nayeem ur Rehman and Tehsildars from various tehsils.
