Srinagar, Dec 07: Denying reports of any tussle between Raj Bhawan and CM Omar Abdullah’s office, senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq said on Saturday that elements with malicious intent are leaving no stone unturned to create chaos and confusion in public.
He said Jammu & Kashmir as of now is a Union Territory, but at the same we have an elected government in place which should be allowed to run affairs without roadblocks.
When asked about the reports of tussle between Office of LG J&K, and CM Omar Abdullah-led government, he without naming said “it is those elements who want to create chaos between LG office and CM’s office. They want to create problems somehow in between the two,” he said.
“Being a chief spokesperson of National Conference (NC), I want to clarify that there is no fissure between LG Office and CM Omar Abdullah-led government office,” he said and added instantly “If there is any internal issue between the two that will be resolved amicably”.
He said we don’t want dual power system in Jammu and Kashmir. “An elected government is in place in J&K. Since it came into being everything is going on in a positive direction,” NC leader held.
He reiterated that we are hopeful that statehood to J&K will be restored soon, so that power centre will be commissioned at single place, and government will be allowed to serve people from single office.
He continued that nominated people cannot serve people, rather elected representatives have constitutional mandate to serve people in real sense.
“I hope LG administration and officers will keep this thing in mind that statehood will be restored sooner or later, so they should obey directions of elected representatives of people,” NC leader said.
When asked about promises made by National Conference (NC) in its manifesto, he said decisions regarding issues pertaining to day-to-day life of common people will be made public soon.
“Be it the matter of increase in number of gas cylinders or free electricity, the decision will be taken in coming months. We are committed to live up to the expectations of our people. We want adequate and uninterrupted power supply to our people. We mentioned these things in our manifesto in October this year. And I am hopeful by February or March 2025, these pressing issues will get resolved,” he said.

“The 200-units of free electricity to our consumers will be ensured after two months,” he stated.
