Distt Judiciary Srinagar , DLSA Srinagar inaugurate Special Lok Adalats Benches for 4th National Lok Adalat

Srinagar : In preparation for the 4th National LokAdalat scheduled for December 14, 2024, the District Judiciary Srinagar and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar on Friday inaugurated special Lok Adalat benches at the District Court Complex, Srinagar.
The event, held under the esteemed guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of the DLSA and Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, and the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary of DLSA Srinagar, marks a significant step towards providing accessible and efficient dispute resolution.
The benches were inaugurated by Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA Srinagar in presence of all the Ld. judicial officers of the District Court Srinagar.
In this regard five (05) benches have been constituted to specifically address compoundable traffic challans, including on-spot challans and notices for all types of vehicles, commercial vehicles included. These benches will operate until December 14, 2024, aiming to significantly reduce the backlog of pending cases.
To further enhance public participation and awareness, a Help Desk for technical and procedural Support has been established at the public entrance near Petition Writers Block of the District Court Complex Srinagar, staffed by court officials and para-legal volunteers.
The officials & PLVs, which shall be operative till 14th December 2024 at the Help Desk, shall import information and guidance to the litigants. Its primary objective is to encourage the public to participate in resolving disputes amicably, thereby promoting a culture of settlement and legal literacy.
The 4th National Lok Adalat is an integral effort to provide an alternative dispute resolution platform for resolving cases amicably and expeditiously. Special Lok Adalats and pre-Lok Adalats have been organized as part of this initiative to extend legal services to the public effectively, ensuring access to justice for all sections of society.
