Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Thursday organized Cyber Awareness Programme at Police Station Chrar-i-Sharief, Police Station Magam, Police Station Beerwah and Police Post Pakharpora with the aim of educating the public and police personnel about the importance of cyber safety.
The initiative was undertaken to raise awareness about emerging cyber threats, online scams, bank fraud, money laundering cases, identify theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, pornography, OTP fraud etc and the preventive measures thereof necessary to safeguard personal and organizational data. Public awareness programs were organized in collaboration with local communities, schools and other institutions to educate citizens on safe internet surfing practices and equip them with the knowledge to stay safe in the digital world. This initiative served as a significant step towards bridging the gap between law enforcement agencies and the public in combating cybercrime effectively.
