Srinagar : Twenty-five teams from 21 states across India are set to participate in the grand finale of the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, hosted by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar from December 11-12.
The Smart India Hackathon, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, aims to nurture innovation by providing a platform for young minds to develop solutions to real-world challenges.
Since its inception, the SIH has inspired thousands of students to think out of the box, offering them an avenue to address pressing societal and industrial problems using technology.
The preparations at NIT Srinagar are being overseen by Director, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanojiya as it is one of 51 nodal centers for this flagship event.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, the 2nd review meeting was held at Committee Room and was presided over by In-charge Director Prof. RoohiNaz.
Registrar Prof. AtikurRehman, Dean of Students Welfare Prof. Abdul Liman, SPOS- SIH-2024 Dr. H.S. Pali, Chairman Core Committee SIH 2024 Prof. GA Harmain, Deputy Registrar Admin Faisal IrshadGanai, DR Accounts MsNaziaNazir and Coordinators of the event attended this crucial meeting.
Prof. RoohiNaz reviewed the progress of preparations, emphasizing timely completion of all tasks. Every detail would be meticulously managed to ensure the grand finale of SIH-2024 at NIT Srinagar unfolds smoothly and successfully, she said.
Prof. Roohi also directed the coordinators of the event to streamline their efforts, ensuring seamless collaboration among teams. There is importance of addressing any potential challenges proactively and maintaining a high standard of professionalism to uphold the prestige of the event, she added.
Chairman Core Committee SIH 2024 Prof. GA Harmain expressed enthusiasm about hosting the grand finale of SIH 2024 at NIT Srinagar.
“It is an honor for NIT Srinagar to serve as the Nodal Centre for mega event. This initiative not only fosters innovation but also brings together the brightest minds from across the country. We are committed to providing an environment where these ideas can thrive,” he said.
Dr. H.S. Pali, Nodal Officer for SIH-2024 said NIT Srinagar is buzzing with preparations for this landmark event. 25 teams representing 21 states are expected to reach campus from 8-10 December. Each team consists of talented young students selected after rigorous preliminary rounds held earlier this year, he said. He said that SIH has grown into a movement that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Events like the grand finale not only recognize talent but also provide participants with exposure to industries, policymakers, and academia, Dr. Pali added.
