Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has attached the property of the residential house of one Lateef Ahmad Chouhan S/o Jalal Din Chouhan R/o Surigam Lolab and registered a case under FIR No. 61/2017 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sogam, adding therein that the action was taken under Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS).
In a statement issued from Zonal Police headquarters Srinagar Police said that the residential property was identified during the investigation as being illegally acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking, Stating therein further that the decisive step underscores J&K Police’s commitment to eradicate drug menace from the society.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drug from the social evil and warned that people found involved in drug peddling or related activities will face stringent legal action.
