2 drug peddlers arrested in Srinagar, Psychotropic substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and also recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Nigeen at a checkpoint established at Foreshore Road near public park Habbak intercepted a vehicle (Alto car) bearing registration No: JK01AL-6614 with two suspects on board who were identified as Haris Bilal S/o Bilal Ahmed Dar R/o Ellahibagh and Sameer Ahmad BhatS/o Ghulam Ahmad Bhat R/o Buchpora Srinagar . Stating that during search 10 grams of charas like substance and 14 strips (140 Tablets) of banned drug were recovered from the possession of the said accused, Police in its statement further said that both the said accused were arrested besides which the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized, adding therein that a case under FIR No.176/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Nigeen besides initiating further investigations. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
