Jammu: Jammu is all set to host the much-awaited Midnight Marathon Season 2.0, a collaborative effort of J&K Sports Council and Real Time Sports. Scheduled to take place on 30th November 2024, the marathon will commence at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu.
Under the theme “Run for Pride of Jammu”, the event is dedicated to promoting fitness, fostering unity, and raising awareness for crucial causes, including safe driving, saving lives, and women’s safety.
The marathon is being organized under the leadership of Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, and Sudhir Anand, an accomplished ultrarunner and driving force behind this event. Participants can compete in the 5K Fun Run; 10K Challenge; Half Marathon (21.1 km) and Full Marathon (42.2 km)
In the run-up to the marathon, the unveiling of the event T-shirt and medal has already set an enthusiastic tone, highlighting the anticipation surrounding this inspiring initiative.
The J&K Sports Council has invited athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and the general public to participate in this celebration of health and community spirit. The Jammu Midnight Marathon Season 2 is a testament to the resilience and pride of Jammu, symbolizing its vibrant strength and unity.
P.G. Deptt of JU claimed Inter Collegiate Kho-Kho (Women) titles 2024-25
Jammu : The Inter-Collegiate Kho-Kho (W) Tournament 2024-25 concluded on Friday at Kho-Kho ground University of Jammu was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. The tournament was held with great enthusiasm and brought together talented players from various affiliated Colleges of University of Jammu, providing them with an excellent platform to showcase their skills and determination.
The P.G Department, University of Jammu claimed Kho-Kho (W) title and lift the winning trophy in the ongoing Inter Collegiate Kho-Kho (Women) Tournament 2024-25. In the final match, P.G. Department University of Jammu beats GCW Udhampur by 03 points (10-07).
Earlier, in the semi-final matches P.G Deptt. JU outplayed GDC Kathua by 06 points and GCW Udhampur beat GDC Ramnagar by 04 points.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion of the Kho-Kho (W) Tournament 2024-25, in the presence of Vimal Kishore, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Sh. Vikas Karlopia, Sh. Gagan Kumar, Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Inderjeet Singh, Vandna Sharma and other dignitaries, players, officials from affiliated colleges of University of Jammu present on the occasion. The matches were officiated by Dheeraj Sharma, Palbinder Singh, Pooja Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Anil Kumar and Gagan Kumar.
