Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Sopore and Police Post Bus Stand headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Neharpora Sopore intercepted two suspects Nazir Ahmad Shah @Bedana S/o Mohammad Yousuf Shah and Nasir Yousuf Shah @Bada Anta S/o Mohammad Yousuf Shah, both residents of Neharpora Sopore and during search, 264 recovered capsules of banned drug (SpasmoProxyvon Plus) from their possession, adding therein that the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 243/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
