Political parties in JK have become ‘scapegoats, everybody’s favourite whipping boy’: Mehbooba
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Srinagar, Nov 28: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former chief minister of the erstwhile state Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday demanded fair pay for contractual lecturers in J-K.

Despite being the backbone of the higher education system in the UT, Mufti said they are facing severe injustice.

“With a meagre salary of ₹28,000 and no summer or winter pay as compared to their counterparts in Ladakh which offers ₹57,700, their plight cannot be ignored,” PDP’s official spokesperson said while quoting Mufti.

She urged to change the nomenclature of these lecturers on the official papers from ‘Academic Arrangement’ to ‘Contractual Assistant Professors’
