Kishtwar : The Department of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Tuesday launched a comprehensive training program for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) as part of the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative in Kishtwar district.
This initiative aims to strengthen the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) framework across the region.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan was the chief guest.
In his address, the DC emphasized the major role of Anganwadi Workers in fostering the overall development of children and as the frontline workers for women empowerment in the district.
The program commenced with the National Anthem followed by the Constitution Day pledge.
DPO Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma stressed the importance of integrating education with nutrition to ensure the holistic development of children aged 0–6 years. He highlighted that the initiative focuses on enhancing children’s physical, mental, and overall well-being, akin to the care provided by a mother.
Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) also shared their insights and experiences regarding the overall development of children.
The training program is scheduled from 26th November to 22nd December 2024 to equip Anganwadi Workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate ECCE components with nutrition and care services at their respective centers.
The training sessions will cover key topics, including innovative teaching methods, child nutrition, early learning strategies, and effective communication techniques.
This initiative aims to prepare Anganwadi Workers to become frontline champions in implementing the ECCE approach. They will be trained by Supervisors and Master Trainers who recently underwent specialized training in Chandigarh.
ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, CDPO Nagseni, Najeeb Latief; CDPO Inderwal/Marwah/Warwan, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar and CDPO Kishtwar, Rahida Lone along with Supervisors, Master Trainers, Anganwadi Workers, and other ICDS staff members also remained present in the training.
